sV Embarks on Second Netflix Production with Nigerian Executive Producer Titi Ogufere.

Film | After the success of the Netflix Made By Design series, sV has unified again with Nigerian Executive Producer Titi Ogufere on her documentary celebrating the life and work of Nike Davies-Okundaye.

sV’s screenplay The Queen of Adire is a weave of ideas, colours and cloth. It has to be because Mama Nike’s designs are so dense with patterns and suggestive symbols. The first impression is variety, tradition and impeccable execution but in a sense, there is too much, the senses are over-ridden. Clearly, there’s a lot more here in this documentary than the capacity to notice details, there is also the capacity to see beauty in a pattern. Filming started in Spring 2023 and the documentary premièred at the African Film Festival (AFRIFF) in Lagos in November 2023. You can view the trailer here.
